Midsummer and lots of changes
July 2015 has seen a lot of changes for Yester'Ukes.
Firstly, Alan has planned to move home to be nearer his grandchildren, meaning he couldn't do the 500 mile commute to practice every Monday!! His final gig with us was at Leigh Folk Festival, thus fulfilling one of his ambitions when he started organising 'a jazz age ukulele band' over 2 years ago.
Michael also has big plans for the next year. Having given up his full time teching job a few months ago, he is now 'selling-up' and planning a new life in rural France. He played for the last time at Harwich at the start of July. His musical contributions will be much missed but we know he will still be there to offer advice if we need it.
All the Yester'Ukes wish both of them the very best for the future and will always be grateful for their enourmous contributions to establishing Yester'Ukes. Good Luck Alan and Michael!
Of course this also means that we will be considering new members to try to make up for their departures. Auditions will start soon, but if you think you would like to join then please get in touch via the website..
